Understanding Hallmarking

What is BIS hallmarking?
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) hallmark is a government-backed certification of gold purity. In India, hallmarked jewellery carries the BIS logo, the purity grade (such as 22K916) and a unique HUID identification code.
The HUID code
Every hallmarked piece carries a six-character Hallmark Unique Identification (HUID) number, allowing the piece to be traced and verified.
Why it matters to you
A hallmark protects you at purchase and at exchange. We encourage every customer to ask for and understand hallmarking details — our team will gladly show you on any piece.
